The Caketress Cooks!

I got the movie Julie and Julia for Christmas and it got me thinking! I can bake... anything... and I bake 7 days a week. But cooking scares me to death. When I worked in a professional kitchen, I could work any station needed, but in the last 7 years since I have been just baking, I have lost the touch and confidence needed to cook. So... Julie and Julia inspired me to relearn the art of cooking!!! I am not going to cook Julia Child's cookbook, although I think that would be amazing. I am a southern girl, with southern roots and southern values. So I am going to start with Paula Deens cookbook Kitchen Classics.

I own a Specialty Bakery business, called Special Cakes by Sara, so I know how to bake, but I am really excited to bake her desserts. I love the use of BUTTER! I hope to get my 14 year old daughter involved in cooking as well. This should be an experience that will be memorable for ever.

  1. You get on with your bad self. You can cook anything you want to. I am interested to see how you progress and then try the dishes myself and compare the outcome. I have all the faith in the world in you. I may even be able to teach you a thing or two, I know I have learned from you. Lets go it will be a blast.
